Nostalgia for yesterday. . . Lessons for today

 Garden 2 mulched with composted leaves obtained from Sewickley Borough.  Leaves are collected by the borough in the fall of each year and allowed to decompose for several years and redistributed to residents at no cost.

 The white lawn chair can be seen in various places throughout the garden.  Mr. Macchione uses it to rest while gardening and sits in it to perform gardening tasks because of knee problems.

 Garden 1 - A ring of lettuce is planted at the base of each fig tree. The lettuce will be ready to harvest by the time the fig leaves are large enough to completely shade the area. Rapini is growing beside the garage and beans seedlings can be seen

Rapini is growing beside the garage and beans seedlings can be seen at the base of each bamboo support pole. Three rows of tomotoes have been planted and staked next to the beans.
